Why I Give

Give Kids A Lifetime this Giving Tuesday

November 19, 2020

As with most things in 2020, Giving Tuesday seems different this year. But at a time when the future seems unsure and so much feels out of our control, some things haven’t changed.

Kids are still being diagnosed with cancer.

Every two minutes, around the world.

And they need our help to find cures.

On Giving Tuesday, you can be sure of this: A gift to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation funds the best childhood cancer research at more than 350 institutions worldwide to find better treatments and cures for kids.

Your gift helps kids who are fighting for their lives right now, and those who will be diagnosed in the future.

Because of advances in childhood cancer research, the 5-year survival rate in the U.S. has risen to 84%. More kids survive now than ever before. Donors like you made this possible.

But 5-year survival isn’t the same thing as a cure. Kids still die after that milestone, from their cancer or the effects of treatment. And for some cancers there still is no cure.

Five years is not enough.

We need to give kids with cancer a lifetime by funding childhood cancer research. Because that’s what they deserve — a lifetime to grow up and live.

With your donation this Giving Tuesday, you can give kids with cancer…

The chance to never give up on their dreams.

The chance to give their heart away to a special someone.

The chance to make a difference in this world.

When you invest in funding the best research, you are helping not just to improve the 5-year survival rate, but to give kids a chance at a lifetime.

Now more than ever, kids with cancer need our support. The Covid-19 pandemic hasn’t put childhood cancer on hold. Your support will make sure that hope isn’t put on hold, either.
