February is a month that celebrates love — love between people, love of the game and love of celebration! This February, what could be better than sharing the love by fundraising for childhood cancer research? Check out these 8 fundraising tips to get started…

1. Touchdown for Kids With Cancer

Watching the big game? Turn it into a fundraiser! Bring out your donation jar and every time there’s a touchdown, field goal, or safety during the Super Bowl, ask friends to contribute.

2. Have a Good Time Giving Back

Mardi Gras is February 13, so let the good times roll! Or as they say on Fat Tuesday, “Laissez les bons temps rouler!” Ask a local restaurant to host a St. Baldrick’s night and donate a percentage of proceeds. Or find a local bar to provide food and drink specials to attendees in exchange for their donations.

3. Send a Valentine, Save a Life

Love is in the air. Show kids with cancer some love this February 14. Request donations from others to send Valentine candy grams at school, work, or in your neighborhood. Attach a special message about St. Baldrick’s to the candy you deliver.

4. Give the Gift of a Date Night

Ask businesses around town for donated or discounted items to create the perfect date for two. Think restaurant gift cards, movie tickets, wine, dessert, or spa days and raffle them off to the couple who donates the most.

5. Take Care of Kids

Not going out on Valentine’s Day? Chances are you know someone who is. Why not offer to watch their kids for the night in exchange for a donation toward your goal?

6. Eat, Drink, Be Merry … and Fund Research

Round up your co-workers for a classic bake-off or cook-off and taste test everyone’s favorite comfort food. Ask the chefs for a donation to enter and attendees can donate to try out the goods, then vote on the winning dish. For a larger donation, they can take the leftovers home!

7. B-I-N-G-O

Baby, it’s still cold outside. So why not host an indoor bingo night? Ask players to donate for each bingo card or pay an admission fee. Before the event, ask for donations of small prizes you can give away to the winners.

8. Retail Therapy for a Good Cause

Host an independent consultant party and invite your friends to shop for your cause. You can stick to one type of product or ask multiple vendors to set up shop. Ask for a portion of their proceeds to be donated or for a donation from guests to join the party.

This February, take childhood back from cancer and do it YOUR way. Launch a Do What You Want fundraiser today.
