5 Ways Your Business Can Conquer Kids’ Cancer in September

by Robyn Raphael, Director of Corporate Relations
September 1, 2017

Every two minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer. That means 25,000 kids around the world will hear the words “you have cancer” this month alone.

Top fundraiser Corey Hutchinson gets a little taken off the top during a head-shaving event at this year’s Tech Tackles Cancer fundraiser in Palo Alto, California.

But there’s hope. Did you know that the St. Baldrick’s Foundation is the largest private funder of childhood cancer research grants in the world?

And this Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we are inviting you to join us. Your corporation can help fund life-saving research, wherever it takes place, so kids can lead long and healthy lives.

Here are 5 easy ways your business can take childhood back from cancer.

1) Matching Gifts

This Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, make a donation and see if your company has a match program. Doubling your donation means more hope to find cures. Don’t forget, we take stock transfers too! Email us at DistinguishedGiving@StBaldricks.org.

2) Host a Corporate Head-Shaving Event

Head-shaving fundraisers are a fun and engaging corporate social responsibility activity for employees to bond and challenge each other company-wide.

3) Sponsor an Event in Your Community

With more than 1,600 events each year, your company can sponsor a local event in communities where you do business. It’s a great way to engage employees through volunteer service too!

4) Start a Corporate Fundraiser

Create an activity that fits with your corporate culture — could be an office Olympics,  a 5K run, ‘Dress Down’ days, or make St. Baldrick’s a beneficiary of a current company activity like a convention, gala, golf outing or a company picnic. The sky’s the limit!

5) Become a Corporate Partner
