$27 Million Raised for Childhood Cancer Research

Volunteers at University School in Shaker Heights, Ohio, announce $27 millions raised for childhood cancer foundation

St. Baldrick’s volunteers and donors have raised another million dollars for children’s cancer research!

Here to help us celebrate $27 million for kids with cancer are our friends at University School, a boys’ school in Shaker Heights, Ohio, during their fourth annual St. Baldrick’s event. These 82 boys — plus 11 teachers, faculty, and parents — together raised more than $65,000 to Conquer Childhood Cancers, pushing the event at A.J. Rocco’s over $166,000 this year!

Volunteer Event Organizer Cari Richer Ross says, “Watching 82 boys under the age of 14 step up to try to help find cures for kids’ cancer is incredibly fulfilling! On the days after our St. Baldrick’s ‘season’ in Cleveland, when we are exhausted and ready for a break, we just have to take a step back and take a look at the impact this event has on these kids.”

One parent said it best:

“This was my son’s second year shaving, and I would be surprised if he doesn’t do it every year he has the chance. I am grateful that my son has the opportunity to feel the fulfillment of helping others, especially an organization like St. Baldrick’s, which saves the lives of kids.  He is so proud of himself.”

“Words like that put everything in perspective and keep us coming back for more!” says Cari.
