Celebrating 25 Years

St. Baldrick’s started as a grassroots effort 25 years ago, driven by people who believe in helping kids with cancer.

National Partner

Portland Timbers

How would you like to become a hero for kids with cancer AND have the chance of winning 1 of 3 very special Portland Timbers items doing it? It's easy. All you have to do to be eligible is sign up to shave your head on this Portland Timbers team, shave at our event on Saturday, 05/19, at Oaks Park, and raise at least $150 in donations through your fundraising page. Three winners will be chosen randomly for these very special items: a Timbers team signed ball, a jersey signed by your favorite Timbers player and 2 tickets and autograph passes to a Timbers match. To get started, select 'Participate With This Team' to the left. Come join Timber Joey, ex Timbers players Scot Thompson and John Bain, COO Mike Golub and ~500 others in becoming hero’s for kids with cancer by raising money and shaving your heads for childhood cancer research. St. Baldrick’s raises more money for childhood cancer research grants than anybody except the Federal Government. 82% of every dollar raised goes directly to the research. And it makes a difference: the cure rate for the most common childhood cancer (which accounts for ~1/3 of all childhood cancers) was 3% in the 1950s but is currently at ~90%! It makes a difference. To be eligible to win one of the special items you must: 1) Sign up to shave your head on this Portland Timbers team (select ‘Participate With This Team’ to the left and follow the instructions to create an account) 2) Raise at least $150 in donations. $150 in donations must be posted to your account by 05/19 at midnight (donors will select 'Make A Donation' on your fundraising page). Winners will be drawn and the prizes handed out at the event!!! 3) Shave your head at the event on 05/19 at Oaks Park. Length of hair does not matter. It’s easy. Out of the pool of eligible participants, three winners will be chosen randomly for one of these very special items: 1) Timbers team signed ball 2) Jersey signed by your favorite Timbers player 3) 2 tickets and autograph passes to a Timbers match The kids that have cancer do not have the choice to be bald…but we do! Sign up and become a hero to these kids. Shaving helps in 2 ways: most importantly the money raised for a cure but also the standing in solidarity with the kids that do not have a choice to be bald. It’s just hair, but it means so much! Sign up today! Thanks for your support! Questions? Email: unclebosock@yahoo.com
