I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

As the wife of a cancer survivor, I've watched as someone I love went through medical treatment and turmoil that no one should have to go through. As an adult, his diagnosis and treatment could be overwhelming at times. When I think about all of the children all over the world going through this same situation, my heart sinks...

There are children in this world that are too sick to go to school, or to Disneyworld, or a sleepover with their friends. There are children that live in hospitals and hope for the day that they can finally go home and sleep in their own bed. These children need treatment, they deserve cures.

When my husband found out he had cancer, he decided to shave his head in solidarity with other cancer patients. And now, I'm making a move of solidarity too.

I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research!

Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? Many people don't know this, leaving childhood cancer research extremely underfunded. David and I have spent previous years raising money for adult cancer research and this year, I decided to do something different.

I'm dedicating my birthday to St. Baldrick's so I can raise money to find cures for childhood cancers. Thinking about getting me a gift? Think again. This year, I'm accepting gifts in the form of St. Baldricks donations and I'm shaving my head to inspire you to donate more.

It's just hair to me, it will grow back. Unfortunately, it's not that easy for children suffering from cancer, and I'm taking a stand to help bring attention to their plight.

Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers. If I receive a donation of only $41.32 every day for the entirety of my fundraiser, I will hit my goal. Less than $50 to help find a cure for childhood cancers? That's not impossible, right?
