I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I'm participating in this event for a number of reasons. First of all is to honor all those who don't have the choice to be bald....My best friend, cousin, maid of honor at my wedding, person who I could go to for anything passed away in January because of cancer. While she wasn't a child in the sense that she was under 18, she was still a beloved daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend and is missed every day. My second reason to do this is because if even in some small way I can make a difference what kind of person would I be if I didn't take it? Every small amount makes a difference, every drop of water contributes to a raging river, in the same way every small step taken to find a cure for cancer will make a difference. Call me an eternal optimist but I truly believe it! Lastly, my reason is entirely selfish. Some day when my husband and I are blessed with a child of our own I know I would not be strong enough to see them suffer with cancer. If I can do my part to help find a cure for cancer and prevent future losses and suffering I am going to do it! So Please help me reach my goal, help St Baldricks fund life saving cancer research, and pray that someday soon cancer will no longer steal our children from us before they've had a chance to really live. Update: The event will take place November 13th at 6:30 pm at a place to be determined!
