I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with:
Got Hair?
Last year, my little sister Emma was invited to the St. Baldrick's event at Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota as a "celebrity shaver." I went along for moral support (and all the free treats!) but after a couple of hours, I realized it would be really cool if I could raise some money to help other kids like my sister who lose their hair because of the medicine they have to take to get rid of their cancer. When D'Aundre Reed from the Minnesota Vikings came up to start shaving some heads, I begged my mom (and Emma's doctor) to donate some money so I could get my head shaved. They did... and I did!! I have not had one single hair cut since then. I decided that I would let my hair grow out until the next St. Baldrick's event and whenever someone asks me about my long hair, I tell them I am raising money for pediatric cancer research.
I hope you will donate money to St. Baldrick's so they can help the doctors and scientists find a cure for cancer. It would be really cool to help other kids like my sister get better and not have to worry about cancer ever again. Thanks!
Be it known to all that this participant has dedicated at least seven years of service to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation helping kids with cancer throughout all the land.
