I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Sisters in Baldness

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Sisters in Baldness

The other day my friend posted a picture of herself getting her hair cut to help kids with cancer. I remembered her talking about the day she did that some 10 years ago. I had the thought that I wish I had done something like that to honor my son, who passed away from melanoma 5 years ago. Then the thought came to me, “I can do it now”! I clicked on the link my friend had attached, and it brought me to St. Baldrick’s website. I am shaving my head to raise funds for research to find a cure for childhood cancer. My son was a victim of cancer at 26 years of age. He was no longer a “child” but, he will always be my baby. My close circle of friends have all been affected by cancer. Either they have had it themselves or lost someone close to them because of it or both. I can think of no better way to honor our loved ones than to join the fight to find a cure.

To help kids fighting cancer, I'm a volunteer with the St. Baldrick's Foundation. Please support me!

With head-shaving and other fundraising events, this volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.

Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!
