I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Hello, everyone! I am a senior at UMass Amherst. I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to fund research that will hopefully lead to a cure for this awful disease.
I have always wanted to participate in this event and, as they say, there is no time like the present! I would be more than honored if you would support me in this journey. Your donation will give hope to children and young adults fighting cancer as well as their families fighting to stay strong through the hardest of circumstances. So when you donate to my fundraiser, you're doing much more than helping me, you're helping a child in need and contributing to finding a cure for childhood cancer.
Through my fundraising efforts, I would like to honor an angel named Mary Katherine Conroy. Mary was diagnosed in February of 2005 with an ependymoma brain tumor. She fought very hard, but this tumor was too much for any four year old to handle. On January 22, 2007 Mary passed away. I admire the strength Mary and her amazingly supportive family exhibited in their fight against cancer. I can only hope that I would be as brave and strong as the Conroy family is if I am ever faced with a struggle as daunting as theirs. Thank you for your help!
