I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Hi! My name is Emily Gade and I am a CART/Buchanan High senior. I am participating in the head shaving event at Buchanan High School on Friday, May 25, and I need to raise at LEAST $25 by then! The event is raising money for childhood cancer research. I am also donating my hair to Locks of Love. The reason behind my decision to do this may seem pretty self-explanatory, but raising money for children with cancer is not the only reason I am shaving my head! I am shaving my head in remembrance of my grandma who passed away from cancer when I was in fifth grade. I always told her, when I was younger, that I couldn’t wait to have her at my graduation, and this is my way of having her there with me on that very important day. I'm also having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures. Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U. S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!
