I am shaving my head for the 3rd time to honor all of the children who are diagnosed with cancer. This is one way I feel like I can raise awareness and research money because "kids get cancer too". My daughter was diagnosed with a very aggressive brain tumor in 2006 when she was only 3 months old. Our options for treatment were limited due to her tender age as well as the location of the tumor. Our family was separated for 8 months while we sought a cure 700 miles away in Memphis, TN at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The cancer took my angel from us right after her 1st birthday. Rayley's short life changed us forever. We will never be the same. Her father and I mourn her loss more deeply than I can express. Her big brother and sister miss the baby sister they barely had the chance to know. Her baby sister will grow up knowing she had another sister who died before she was even born.

I was one of the original 46 Mommas Shave For The Brave in Los Angeles in 2010. The experience is one I will remember for a lifetime. I shaved again with the 2011 46 Mommas in our nation's capital. Please contribute to the St. Baldrick's Foundation if you can. Times continue to be tough for everyone, but pediatric cancer does not take a break... so we can't either.
