There was definitely one thing that drove me to participate in St. Baldrick's day. I got sick. In the end it was just a viral infection. However, at the time all we knew was that I was always tired, I was feverish, and I was losing weight. We thought it was mono, so my mom took me to the doctor. It wasn't mono. My mom was talking to one of her friends and she said that her son acted the same way right before he was diagnosed with leukemia. I went in for more tests a few days later, and they took a lot of blood. Then we waited. Honestly, it was scary, and I can't even begin to imagine how it would feel not to get the happy call back, for everything to not be okay. I felt really lucky. I mean, the worst that had happened to me was a bit of paranoia. I wanted to do something for all the kids who didn't get good news, like I did. I saw an advertisement for St. Baldricks day on the announcements at my school. I don't really have any money, so I figured the least I can give is my hair and my time. Thanks for reading, and hopefully donating!
