A quiet woman on the other end of the phone said "One in five children with childhood cancer will not survive; one in five." I immediately thought of my son and his four closest friends and it hit home.
The day before that conversation I was a different person, I wasn't informed, I didn't know the magnitude of the problem. I know now, so I can't ignore this any longer. I don't have the answers, I don't have a cure, and I don't know the right words to say to a child facing cancer, but I do have hair, and I do have friends and colleagues and with help from them I CAN make a difference!
I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures. Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U. S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!
