I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I'm doing something crazy, but it's for a good cause.
As some of you know, my mom has been battling breast cancer for awhile now. During the first round of chemo she lost all of her hair. When I first found out that she was going to be bald, I was one, worried and two, I just thought that it was a bit crazy. I was worried because I wasn't sure how the general public would respond when she was out and about and what students at my school would think if they saw her. It took a little getting used to, but in my opinion I can't see my mom with anything but short hair now that it has all grown back.

My way of showing support for my mom after all that she has been through is through the St. Baldrick's Foundation Fundraiser. I came up with the idea that I wanted to show support in this way about a year ago and have been anxious all year to finally get to do it.

St. Baldrick's is a fundraiser that helps raise money to help find a cure for children that are living with cancer. In order to participate in this event, a "shavee" must raise a certain amount of money and then at the end of the event they get their head shaved at guard zero during the school day. All of the money I raise is going to the St. Baldrick's Foundation in hopes to cure kids with cancer.

As a "shavee", I have set a personal goal that I believe to be reachable. My goal is to raise $1,000 by February 26th. As I'm sacrificing my hair I'm challenging you to sacrifice one of your creature comforts and consider donating to this cause to help me reach my charitable goal.

I will be posting pictures of before and after the shave on the St. Baldrick’s website.
Thank you in advance for your support(:
