I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Blue Devil Athletic Training

You heard it right - I'm shaving my head again. Last year I raised over $600 towards cancer research and I would like to top that this year. I have started the ball rolling with a donation, but I need your help to reach my goal of $750.. Since last year's event, a close member of the Blue Devil community has been diagnosed with cancer. Rylie can be seen cheering and having a great time with her grandmother at almost every Blue Devil home basketball game. Please read this note written by rylie's mother. Rylie is a creative and enthusiastic six year old girl. She loves crafting, going to school and playing with her friends. She was diagnosed with ALL - Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on June 17, 2009. the last eight months have been difficult for everyone. I am thrilled to say that she entered the Maintenance phase of her treatment in January. She will continue her treatment until August 2011, but can now start to return to more "normal" lifestyle. Rylie has an amazing spirit. It has been her courage and strength that have gotten all of us through this time. She is grateful for all of the support that her friends, family and community have provided and fro the amazing doctors and nurses at Connecticut Children's Medical Center. Rylie embraced her hair-loss. She is happy that her beautiful red hair is growing back, but believes that BALD is BEAUTIFUL! We support Paul Manwaring and the Blue Devil Athletic Trainers, and the St Baldrick's foundation and their efforts to support childhood cancer research.
