My hair is getting a bit shaggy lately and I'm not getting another haircut until March 10, 2010 at Ri Ra Irish Pub in Atlanta. On that day, I'll be getting the most important haircut of my life as I'll be shaving my head on behalf of the St. Baldrick's Foundation, an organization dedicated to raising awareness and finding a cure for childhood cancer, the leading cause of death in children in the United States.

Cancer is a scary word. A word, uttered in the doctor's office, that leaves must adults devastated. For a child, cancer is something more difficult to grasp. It's strange and scary and unknown. Cancer is the horrible monster under the bed. Yet, as scary as it is, I'm amazed by how much bravery is shown by kids battling cancer. The courage, determination, and optimism displayed by children fighting this monster moves and inspires me like almost nothing else. That is why, on March 10th, 2010 at Ri Ra Irish Pub in Atlanta, I will shave my head as a show of support and solidarity and to help raise funds for childhood cancer research. .

I've set a goal to personally raise $5,000 for St. Baldrick's and I need your help. I'm asking you to donate now and give like your life depends on it, because you can bet there's a child out there whose life does.
