I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Sometimes, people with long hair experience an urge to shave their heads. It's a scientific fact.* And sometimes, it seems like a really good idea to do it in front of a crowd in a pub while enjoying an alcoholic beverage. After a few drinks, maybe you'd like to have your head shaved too! After all, it's for the children.

I've signed up to have my head shaved at the Halfway to St. Paddy's Day celebration at the Irish Embassy in Durango, Colorado, because it seriously seemed like the thing to do at the time. I'm excited about the possibilities of exploring a whole new world of shiny-cranium-hiding headware, but best of all, by having a total stranger take all my hair, I'll be helping to raise money for childhood cancer research. I'll also be donating my shorn mane to an organization that uses hair to make wigs for cancer survivors.

I'd really like to hit my $1000 fundraising goal -- I like to think my luxurious locks are worth it -- so please hit the "make a donation" button, help us fight childhood cancer, and send a clear message that you think Sinead O'Connor made the right call all those years ago.
