I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Mighty Hunter Lee

My name is Crystal Harper and I'm the weekend Daybreak meteorologist for 13NewsNow in Norfolk, VA.

I recently learned that such a small amount of funding is given to pediatric cancer research and it breaks my heart to see young kids going through something so traumatic.  I want to do my part so that hopefully no child ever has to hear the words "you have cancer." I don't want any child to have to go through chemo. I don't want any child to EVER have to mourn the loss of another child who lost their battle to cancer.

If I reach my goal of $10,000, I will be shaving the little bit of hair that I have this Saturday at the St. Baldricks event in Virginia Beach. Although I was thrilled to start growing my own hair back, if shaving it off means that a young life could potentially be saved there's no way I could turn down that opportunity.

Thank you for your help! It's going to a great cause.

We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
