I can't THANK YOU all enough for your generous contributions and encouraging words. I'm so grateful, and I'm even more confident that we will make a difference for these children. I really couldn't have done this without all of your support. And though my shave event has passed, it's not too late to support the cause if you haven't already.

This shave has helped 3 causes:

1. The shave - St. Baldrick's for advancing pediatric cancer research.
2. The long ponytails - Locks of Love for making hair pieces for children with medical hair loss.
3. The short clippings - Matter of Trust for making oil containment booms for the Gulf Coast spill.

Not an ounce of hair was wasted! It feels wonderful, not only to have a head as light as air, but also to know that this has benefited multiple causes.

I have always wanted to shave my head, but never had enough courage to actually carry it through. Then I found out about the St. Baldrick's Foundation and their mission to fund research in pediatric cancers. What better reason to go bald than to support kids with cancer? Though I was nervous about having no hair for a while, I know it pales in comparison to what these children and their families have to go through. I won't regret my decision if I've made even a small contribution towards this cause.

My hair was also donated to help another non-profit organization called Locks of Love. They use it to make quality hairpieces for disadvantaged children who have medical ailments that result in hair loss.

I encourage you to read the touching stories of the kids I'm honoring (to the right). I hope you will kindly support me in this endeavor to help fund critical research that will further diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of pediatric cancers. Children's lives depend on it.
