St. Baldrick’s Foundation Reintroduces Corporate Fundraising “Casual to Conquer” Campaign

LOS ANGELES (May 22, 2012) – The weather is heating up, and with it signals the return of the St Baldrick’s Foundation’s popular “Casual to Conquer” summer campaign that encourages comfortable dress over stodgy business attire – all for a good cause! It’s time to get creative with raising funds and awareness to help Conquer Kids’ Cancer, and this summer, the Foundation encourages businesses of any kind to host a “Casual to Conquer” fundraiser to benefit the St. Baldrick’s Foundation and its mission to fund life-saving childhood cancer research.

Implementing “Casual to Conquer” is easy, and companies can empower staff to have a little fun and make a difference in the fight against childhood cancer. For a donation of the company’s choosing, employees can add a few more “casual days” to their work week. Each office can customize its “Casual to Conquer” campaign from devoting one day each week, a few days each month or even all summer long to the fundraiser. A few popular ideas are:

Flip-Flop Fridays: Bare those toes!
Denim Days: Wear those favorite blue jeans!
All Star Days: Wear a favorite team’s jersey or t-shirt!

In 2011 many companies and schools joined the “Casual to Conquer” campaign, raising nearly $40,000 in the effort. “Casual to Conquer is not only a great way to support a cause our firm has embraced, but a great way to enhance employee morale,” said Kristin Downey, director of human resources for AmWINS Group (the program’s biggest fundraiser in 2011). “Some mornings it just makes getting off to work easier knowing you can slip into a pair of jeans and flip-flops.”

To register your company for “Casual to Conquer,” contact Heather Kash at Heather@StBaldricks.org. Proudly share your casual days photos by posting them to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation Facebook Page and let everyone know that your company has committed to raising funds for childhood cancer research!

About the St. Baldrick’s Foundation
The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives. The Foundation funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government. St. Baldrick’s funds are granted to some of the most brilliant childhood cancer research experts in the world and to younger professionals who will be the experts of tomorrow. Funds awarded also enable hundreds of local institutions to participate in national pediatric cancer clinical trials, a child’s best hope for a cure. Since the Foundation’s first grants as an independent charity in 2005, St. Baldrick’s has funded more than $78 million in childhood cancer research.
