Our daughter Mikayla was diagnosed with Wilms Tumor in 2007, at the age of 3. Her life changed from going to preschool and playing with her friends to living in the hospital, traveling to and from Dr. visits, and staying home full time with mom. It was a huge change, the biggest adjustment of all were the "pokes." Its a hard thing to explain to such a small child. Today, 8 months later, she understands what all of the drugs and pokes are for. She has never let it get her down and moves on to each new looking forward to the day that she can go back to school and be with her friends!
