My name is Jake Schied and I am a cancer survivor!! At age 2 , I was diagnosed with Bilateral Retinoblastoma. After 6 months of treatment I lost my left eye to cancer in March of 2008. In April of 2008 my family was sent to Philadelphia because there was a threatening tumor in my remaining eye. There I went through intense radiation for 5 days. On June 18th, on my nana's birthday, we found out I was cancer free!!
Although my life has been rough, I have been embraced by my family- mom & dad, my brothers, Matt & Bryan, and my sister, Stefanie. I am honored to be a part of a wonderful community who has stood by my family and me.
Thank you for honoring me and helping with the fight against cancer. It is my family's dream to one day give me an eye that will help me see completely once again-hopefully with your donation that could happen!!!!
