My Story

Haley is almost 18 years old & she has been battling her brain tumor for over 17 years. She was diagnosed at 7 months old with her brain tumor (astrocytoma). She has gone through 2 long rounds of chemo.  At the age of 7 months, she went through 18 months of chemo and then  again at 5 1/2 years old for another 13 months. She has been off chemo since December 2008.    She is currently in maintenance. Her tumor remains stable.   Her next MRI will be in May, 2020.  Haley will be heading off to college this Fall to study nursing at ISU.  Haley has started "Haley's Hope Hats"..... she has started knitting hats for kids with cancer & she has enlisted many recruits to knit or crochet a hat or two to add to her donation!! She wants to give back after receiving so many wonderful homemade hats over the years!! Go Haley!!
