My Story

Mei Fung was diagnosed with brain cancer at the age of 16. After going through brain surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, her ability to express herself and the coordination of her limbs were affected. But all these did not stop her from dreaming to become a writer. With a typing speed of 10 words per minute, she finished a 40,000-word book, titled My Beautiful Diary in three months, a story about her experience in fighting cancer. “Despite all the late effects of my cancer, I did not give up. The disease allowed me to experience and see things that others cannot and I feel blessed. I believe that life is fair. I will continue to work very hard and hope that my effort will be recognized someday!”
