My Story

Lauren is a spirited, vivacious 7 year old girl who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) the day before she was to start First grade. Since that time, Lauren has embraced her illness with a fight and drive that is remarkable. Lauren is being treated by the exceptional Oncology Team at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Her treatments include multiple, weekly trips to Milwaukee for the infusion of chemotherapy, frequent spinal taps, and multiple bone marrow biopsies to check the progression of the disease and her response to therapy. Since her diagnosis, she has had an uphill battle including ICU stays, hypotension, sepsis and bowel obstruction. She is a true inspiration to our family and those around her.
