My name is Nicholas Farano and I am 17 years old. I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in September of 2004, when I was 13. After about a week or so on antibiotics, a Chest X-Ray and a CT Scan to try to figure out what was wrong with me, I then met my oncologist.In that week following, I was in the intensive care unit starting my C.O.G. protocol on Prednisone. For 2 years, I went to the hospital up to four to five times per week, receiving treatments.

My last chemotherapy treatment was September 28, 2006. I am currently in remission for 3.5 years. Every 6 months I visit my hospital's Long Term Survivorship Clinic.

I hope to see a day when kids my age don't have to go through the devastating effects of cancer, and that's one of the reasons why this event is SO important. I'm participating in the event in honor of all the children who are battling cancer. We need your support to help accelerate cures and give hope to patients and their families.
