My Story

Anna Rose played travel softball, loved to dance, read, do her hair, go to school, hang with her neighborhood friends and her 3 older sisters. On March 29, 2011, we were devasted to find that her stomach aches were cancer-- T-cell, High Risk, Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and she was admitted to the PICU at Hope Childrens hospital. Anna has been through. 7 hospital stays with 2 icu visits, plasmapheresis treatment , tumorlycis syndrome, blood infection, intestinal infection , pancreatitis, mucositis, radiation to her brain, severe radiation somnolence , 24 spinal taps with chemo meds pushed in, 8 bone marrow aspirations, pic line placement and port placement surgery, physical therapy....and chemotherapy - iv therapy, chemo pills taken every day, and shots in her legs. She completed this treatment until July 2013, it was a 2 1/2 year protocol. She continues monthly visits with the oncologist, quarterly spinal taps, etc. to monitor for relapse. She is being watched for treatment side effects. She's fighting like crazy!!! Thank you for being there to support us!!!! She had beautiful long hair that she lost due to her lifesaving treatments. She is a hero to her family, friends, and many others! So many want to help, and St Baldricks is a way to help support childhood cancer research, as well as honoring those who suffer this terrible illness, while also showing support that bald or not, we are beautiful! View her photo gallery! Thank you all
