My Story

Maquenzie was diagnosed with AL 2 weeks before her 2nd birthday. We noticed that something was wrong when she had a fever of over 102 and we could not get it to go down no matter what we tried. After several visits to the hospital, where they continued to send us home, we called in a private encologist, who ran the necessary tests, and finally came back with her diagnosis. We were terrified we were going to loose our baby girl. It was several months of traveling to the hospital in CA to give her marrow transplants and her Chemo therapy. At age 3 she had lost most of her beautiful red hair, but always had the most beautiful smile on her face. Maquenzie is now 10 and has been in complete remission for 4 years, with no trips to the hospital. She is a fighter and all of her fire red hair has grown back, and she maintains that beautiful smile, sa if this never happened to her!
