My Story

Gigi was diagnosed with leukemia when she was 3 years old. We were distraught. But during her first night in the hospital, when things seemed so grim, Gigi's oncologist explained how much progress researchers have made in treating childhood cancers and that we should be full of hope that she could beat this. Gigi is still in treatment but she is a thriving 5-year old who loves to read, attend dance class and pretend to be horses with her big sister. Most of all, Gigi is excited to start kindergarten this year! We are so grateful for all the cancer research that has given Gigi such a bright future despite having cancer, because next to having a healthy child, what a cancer family needs and wants most is hope.
