My Story

Hayden was diagnosed at 5 1/2 years after moving 4 months earlier to North Carolina and six weeks after his little sister was born. He is the oldest of 3 children (2 boys, 1 girl). Hayden was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in October of 2006 and had a total of 39 months of chemotherapy treatment before going off therapy in December 2009. Hayden continues to remain in remission to this day as we wait for the 5 year mark of being off therapy and thus considered cured. Hayden is doing very well in school and his favorite subjects are math and science. Last spring Hayden was finally able and strong enough to play his first team sport and he chose baseball. He likes baseball very much and has signed up to play on the same team again this spring. Hayden enjoys fishing and hunting as well as the occasional video game.
