Maggie H.Follow

We celebrated Maggie being 5 years cancer free in December 2006. Maggie was diagnosed with ALL in December of 2001 when she was 6 years old and just in kindergarten. She endured 2 1/2 years of chemotherapy and went off treatment in June 2004. Today Maggie is getting ready to graduate from 8th grade in June, and loves playing travel fast-pitch softball. Following is Maggie's personal message that is being sent to all of the Hanging Gardens Banquet event's participants.

"Hello, my name is Maggie Horn. When I was six, I was diagnosed with leukemia. I went through two and a half long and memory filled years of chemotherapy at Children’s Memorial Hospital. Even though I was only six, I was strong and was supported by my family, friends, and people I have never met, like you. Now I am fourteen, having fun and am excelling in school and sports.

With people like you, other kids who have cancer don’t have to go through all I did. One day kids won't have to go through any treatment because there will be a cure. I’d like to thank you for participating and helping the fight to find a cure, it truly means a lot to me.”
