My Story

August is my Hero. August is an amzaing kid. His smile will warm your heart and make you want to laugh or sigh. August is now a precocious 7 year old who has been fighting Neuroblastoma for all of his life. He has been through 3 surgeries - 2 on his back at the inital tumor site and 1 on his tummy in the attempt to get part of his original tumor. August also under went Chemotherapy in 2005, and at this time is stable, but being followed every 6 months with MRI Scans. Throughout Augusts' cancer treatment he has never lost his sense of self. When he lost his hair in Chemotherapy he told me that I had to grow my hair out so one of us could have some. So I did. Now it is my turn to "go bald", and see if our "bald games" are just as fun. August is a great tease and loves life. He is also a great builder and thinker.
