My Story

Pierce was diagnosed with Stage 3 High Risk Neuroblastoma on August 26, 2008 at 13 months old. He received 5 doses of high dose chemo, 14 rounds of radiation, 3 surgeries, 5 cycle of 3F8 anti-body treatment, and 5 cycles of Accutane and was declared NED (no evidence of disease). Pierce relapsed on July 3, 2009, which was found during bowel obstruction surgery. He then received another cycle of high dose chemo and seemed to be feeling great. Shortly after this 6th cycle of chemo, Pierce had another obstruction. The cancer had invaded his intestines and it had become chemo resistant. At which point there was no more that could be done. Pierce received all of his cancer treatment in New York. We brought him home on September 3, 2009 and he earned his angel wings on October 9, 2009. Pierce was such a strong, brave, smart, and beautiful little boy. We miss him more than life itself, but know he is in a better place where there is no pain, cancer, tubbies, or suffering. Pierce loved Shrek, Madagascar, and shaking his bootie. He could dance with the best of them. We miss you and love you little man!
