Amelia was diagnosed with ALL 3 days after turning 2, 3 days before Christmas. We spent Christmas 2005 opening presents in the hospital lounge. During her treatment Amelia endured surgery for port placement, spinal taps, bone marrow aspirations, hospital stays, chemo treatments ( oral, IV, and shots to her legs), and countless other interesting procedures. Through it all Amelia has had a smile that is contagous, with her dimples shining through. Amelia had adjusted to her new life, knowing all her medications; which ones tasted yucky and which ones were okay. She even had her own "medicine dance" she did to make it more fun.
Amelia has an older sister Abby (12) and an older brother Caleb (10) who take very good care of her, and have as well adjusted to the new cancer life and now the cancer-free life. Amelia's spirit and endurance have been an inspiration to our family and everyone around us. She has taught us how to live each day to its fullest and she has shown us God's touch.
