My Story

Erik was diagnosed in 1991 at 6 years old with neuroblastoma. He went through a year of intense treatment, including chemo, surgery, radiation, and a bone marrow transplant. He was in remission 13 years and then relapsed at age 20 while in college. After another almost 5 years of treatment, including chemo, radiation, another stem cell transplant and other experimental treatments, he lost his battle Feb 9, 2010 at 24 years old. During treatment he completed two degrees (computer science and computer information systems) and loved to create art and music. He lived a beautiful life.
