Levi M.Follow

Levi is my wonderful, handsome almost 10 year old son. He was diagnosed with high risk medulloblastoma in September 2004, when he was 4 1/2 years old. Levi has had three brain surgeries, multiple other surgeries, 6 weeks of radiation and 10 months of the most difficult chemo regimen you could imagine. He went into surgery asking for something to drink and came out mute and paralyzed. He has relearned every skill - swallowing, eating, talking walking, sitting up unassisted, focusing his eyes, laughing and being a normal boy.

Levi looks "almost" normal now - you may notice a slight delay in his speech or see him stumble a little when he walks. Radiation has caused learning difficulties and hearing loss. He has to take a shot of growth hormone every night. But he doesn't let any of that get him down! He laughs and laughs and laughs. He tell cornball jokes (What's a cat's favorite color? Purrrrple). He loves chicken nuggets and red Mountain Dude (Dew). He loves SpongeBob, Shrek and Scooby Doo.

No child should have to go through what my Levi did. Not only do I want to raise money for a CURE, I want to help researchers find better ways to treat childhood cancer, that doesn't rob the child of being a CHILD.
