My Story

It's been 6 years since Adrian has been off treatment, he's a wonderful 9 years old boy attending grade 4 at school. Adrian had a few surgeries (side effects) after we moved back to Canada in 2009. He started wearing hearing aids for his high frequency hearing loss and he's been having difficulty putting on weight and height. Growth is a small price to pay over everything. He lives life to the fullest by trying different things and loves to write and read at his leisure time. We try not to worry too much on trivial things and be glad he's a survivor! Adrian was diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroblastoma at the age of 10 months old. It's been two years to the day from diagnosis, our prayers were answered and that Adrian is in remission. Other than some speech & developmental delays, he is a wonderful, healthy and well-adjusted 3 years old who loves going to school. As parents, our lives have never been the same but with a new perspective. We realize the importance to reach out to others who need our love and support and we appreciate each day that we get to spend with Adrian. Though we will always live with the fear of a relapse, we are confident that Adrian will heal and continue to grow day by day like any other normal kids.
