My Story

Our son, Jonathan was diagnosed in May of 2007 with Hodgkin's Lymphoma Stage 3. Were not sure how we would have gotten to the point where we are without the wonderful support of friends and family, as well as the great care from many medical personnel. To say were grateful that Jonathan is currently in remission is a considerable understatement. Jonathan is a genuinely nice kid who loves school and friends. He is doing well as a freshman in the PACE program at Poly High School in Long Beach, and is a member of the junior varsity tennis team. His school studies include learning Japanese, playing guitar in the jazz band, and he still maintains an interest in becoming a doctor. The goal of becoming a physician was only reinforced as a result of his cancer experience, and he has said he would like to be an oncology surgeon. Like most kids his age, Jonathan spends a good amount of time playing Xbox, and texting friends while doing, well everything. Some of his favorite television shows are The Office, Myth Busters, 30 Rock, and Saturday Night Live. Like every child we've encountered with life threatening diseases, Jonathan's courage has been an inspiration to all of us.
