My Story

Danielle was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia when she was 3 years old. She endured 26 months of chemo, spinals, bone marrow aspirates, surgery and countless blood draws with such strength and determination. Danielle is now a happy, energetic and caring 13 year old. She is in seventh grade at JMMS and loves art and spending time with her friends. We are so grateful that she has remained cancer free after being off treatment for 9 years. Danielle's journey has forced us to face the fact that life is not guaranteed to any of us. We try not to sweat the small stuff and appreciate all that we have.  We have learned that while the worry of relapse never completely goes away, it does fade a little every day. We will never forget the impact of having our child diagnosed with cancer, nor will we ever forget that even though Danielle has remained cancer-free, there are many children whose journey has just begun.
