My Story

May 30, 2008 Hi everyone. As you know my name is Aiden Zadurski. I enjoy riding my bike, playing with sidewalk chalk. hanging out with my friends and family, blowing bubbles, and tricking my Papa Joe with my magic tricks. The past two weeks I had been getting quite a few bloody noses and I had been to the doctor to get my nose cauterized 3 times. On the third time May 29th, 2008,the doctor tested my blood to see why it was not clotting, and they found that my white blood cell count was extremely high and my platelets and red blood cells were really low. This alarmed him and he sent me straight to St. Vincent Hospital in an ambulance with my mom, Anne Eastman, to see Dr. Brandt. He is my oncology doctor. (I'm in great hands:)) Dr. Brandt told my family and I that I had ALL. So now we're starting our journey. My family and friends will keep you posted as I beat cancer and do it with the help of my magic wand;) August 1, 2012 On July 30th, 2012 Aiden received his last dose of chemo and on August 1st his mediport was removed from his chest. We are all going to be working towards a life in remission. Everyday will continue to be a battle as we wonder if the dreaded ***R-word** is in the future. (I don't even really like to say it.....) But for now...we are going to live like there is no tomorrow and dance like nobody is watching.... and let Aiden celebrate his life as we celebrate it with him. Thank you everyone for your prayers, suppport and donations toward finding a cure.
