My Story

CJ was diagnosed in August of 1996, at the age of 4 1/2, with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia after weeks of suffering with a fevers, leg pain, headaches & feeling very tired. He endured 2 1/2 years of Chemotherapy, Blood & Platelet transfusions, spinal taps & bone marrow aspirations. He was treated at the Univ of Maryland in Baltimore. CJ completed his treatment in February of 1999. Today he is a very active, healthy 16 year old young man, finishing up his Junior Year of high school. He's an Honor Student and plays basketball and competitive soccer and is planning on majoring in Sports Management or possibly Engineering in College. He's a very kind and gentle young man with a huge smile & great attitude. It's CJ's dream that one day a cure will be found for all childhood cancers.
