St. Baldrick’s started as a grassroots effort 25 years ago, driven by people who believe in helping kids with cancer.

In Memory of Richard G. "Dick" Walker

We helped to raise money for childhood cancer research

Richard G. “Dick” Walker, age 80, bank executive, graduate of Colgate University, law degree from John Marshall and an MBA from University of Chicago. Through his life Dick was very active in community service, he was Vice President of local area boy scouts, served as Union League Club (ULC) President (1988-1989) a life trustee for the ULC Boys and Girls Club, active board member of the Presbyterian Home (25 years) and committed member of his church. Dick’s hobbies included golf, tennis, traveling and motorhoming (37 years). Dick also found time to study the Civil War and photography. Dick was President of the Oak Park Camera Club, and in his retirement he founded the Silver Lakes Camera Club and served as President of Naples Camera Club. Dick was a devoted husband to Betty Jo and a loving father to Rick, Jeff, Sue Ann and cherished grandfather to his six grandchildren. Dear brother to sister Eleanor Threlkel (Dr. James) and brothers, the late Dr. Andrew and James Walker, devoted son of the late Gertrude and Andrew Walker, uncle, cousin as well as true friend to many.
