On March 16, 2012, North Dakota will hold the 5th annual St. Baldrick's event at the Missouri Valley Family YMCA. Since the first event held in 2008, more than $500,000 has been raised for St. Baldrick's Foundation. Money raised for the foundation goes to fund cancer research and fellowships to hopefully one day find a cure.
Cancer is the number one disease killer of children in the United States and Canada, and every year 160,000 children are diagnosed with cancer worldwide. The event is called St. Baldrick’s because participants either shave their head or cut their hair in solidarity with kids battling cancer while raising money for the cause, and it’s held on or around St. Patrick's Day.
We’ve set our goal this year to raise another $150,000 and create an even bigger community event. Will you consider joining the event?
