The Vernon Hills Capitals are again teaming up with the St. Baldrick's Foundation to help conquer childhood cancer. The Capitals will host their second St. Baldrick's event on Sunday, February 24, 2013, between 11am-4pm.
Last year, our goal was $2,000, and we raised $3,685. This year, we've set our goal at $3,500. But with your continued support, we know we can beat that.
The Capitals will play host to the Calumet Wolverines that day at 12:30pm. Three members of the Capitals team, Defenseman Mike Bolt, Goalie Pete Wisnieff, and Dir. of Game Operations Phil Gutierrez will have their heads shaved at the conclusion of the game. Bolt and Wisnieff will come right off the ice, in FULL UNIFORM, to get there heads shaved.
Be a hero for kids with cancer! Join this St. Baldrick's event, and whether you decide to shave your head, volunteer, or donate, we hope you'll be a part of the excitement.
The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity that funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.
Get involved and you'll be giving hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
