The Brown School will be hosting a St. Baldrick’s Event on Friday, Match 16th from 6-8PM. The event is the brainchild of seventh grader, Evan Thompson. This will be the second year of the school and Evan hosting this event. Last year, the event raised more than $7000. The event is viewed as another way that the Brown School is working toward community building. When asked about this event, Evan stated, “This is the second year I have organized this event. I have organized this event to raise money and awareness for childhood cancer research. I believe that that most important thing that kids and adults can do is to act. I want to make others aware of the need for help and to lead by example. Sometimes, the only thing that we can share is ourselves and that is what I am doing. In the US, more children die of childhood cancer than any other disease. Please make a donation on my behalf to support childhood cancer research so that all children diagnosed with cancer will have a better chance for a cure. To make a donation, click on "Make A Donation" or donate by mail or phone. Thank you for your support! And thank you for helping me prove that kids can make a difference. There is nothing more important than giving of our time and talent to make this world a better place.”
