Event Details

The staff, students and families of Guest Elementary are a generous, community minded group. And they are extending their generosity once again by hosting their own St. Baldrick's event! 18 shavees are registered and counting! Wow! The event is open to the public for attending and watching, however the invitation to shave at this event is limited to staff, students and immediate family. This is due to a time constraint, as the event will be held as a school assembly during the last hour of the school day and must be finished to get students to their buses on time. Through the generous donations of time and money and hair, nearly half a million dollars have been raised in Michigan over the past decade. Last year, one of the roughest years for Michigan's economy, we raised more money than any other year! This is so wonderful. And we are so grateful. However, more is needed. Why? Because children are still fighting for their lives. Thousands die every year. And I think you will agree that one child dying is too many. Please join us to help make a difference for children battling cancer and for their families who support them. Sign up to become a shavee. Recruit someone to become a shavee. Attend an event to cheer on those brave enough to go bald. Call to find out how you can help in organizing this event. Donate what you can. We understand that the economy is tough right now. But cancer doesn't care about the state of the economy. And neither does a child fighting cancer. Pennies turn into dollars, and those dollars go directly to fund research. Every bit of support you can give counts, whether it is your hair, your time or a donation. After losing our 2 year old daughter to Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma 8 years ago, we became supporters of The St. Baldrick's Foundation by shaving our heads, organizing events and speaking around the state in the fight against childhood cancer. All of the children we are honoring at this event are from MI. And these are just the children whose families have registered them with St. Baldrick's. I can think of five more, off of the top of my head, right in our own community, who are not registered as honored children. One has fought and is in remission, traveling out of state as I type this, full of hope and fear for his one year mark check-up. Two are fighting a hard battle and two are angels. We are forever grateful to everyone who has supported the St. Baldrick's Foundation and helped us Shave the Way to Conquer Kids' Cancer. Thank you so much for supporting this event and The St. Baldrick's Foundation. We hope to see you on March 31st. Sincerely, The MacBeth Family

St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
