In keeping with the theme of charity and having a little fun as well, this year the person who pledges the highest amount to the individual shavee (on the web page) will be awarded the first shave. Ground rules for the first shaver are simple – keep it injury free (no digging!) and artistry is welcomed (and encouraged)! Since 1999, PartnerRe has been a proud sponsor and supporter of the St. Baldrick’s Foundation and its fight to find a cure for childhood cancer. In keeping with tradition, PartnerRe will once again sponsor our annual St. Baldrick's employee fund raiser. This year will be a Group wide effort with Andrew Turnbull from the Bermuda office joining Bob Oates, Rob Brian, and Svetlana Bego from Greenwich. Partner Re is closing in on $2 million in total contributions going back to 1999. Let’s make this the best year ever and cruise past this incredible number! Kindly support your work colleagues in meeting their fundraising targets and help find a cure to save children's lives. To those who may not be familiar with the St. Baldrick's Foundation; St. Baldrick's began in 1999 when a group of New York reinsurance executives decided to give their St. Patrick’s Day celebration a twist that would benefit young people fighting cancer. They recruited volunteers who agreed to have their heads shaved in public in return for pledges of financial support. That first event raised $104,000. Sixteen years later, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation has funded over $157 million in childhood cancer research grants. Greenwich employees (and anyone visiting from out of town), are all invited to join us at the Sundown Saloon on Tuesday, March 10th for food, fun, prizes, and head shaving (more details to follow)!

St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
