Mohawk Central School

The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity that funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government. Get involved and you'll be giving hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. Hello everyone , my name is Shannon (Denison) Stewart and I will be shaving my head to raise money for pediatric cancer research, would you like to join me? If you would like to come to our event to watch and support this cause please join us at the Mohawk High School gym, on Sunday July 1st, from 3pm-6pm. This will be a family friendly event and all are welcome. If you know a family that has been touched by childhood cancer that may not know about this event , please, invite them to join us and if you will, take a moment to tell them that we are doing this for them and that they are not alone in their fight. I would like to personally let each of the families in our beautiful Mohawk Valley area know that there is someone out there that you may have never heard of or met, but they know about you and what you & your family are going through. And this event is in honor of all of you. Every child deserves the same chance to beat cancer, no matter what the diagnosis, and this is why we are here. If you would like to have your head shaved at this event please contact me so that I may help you get started. Or you can just click on the blue tab on the left of this page that says "Participate in this event". You can choose to create your own team in honor of a child you know that has cancer, or choose from a team that has already been created to join them in honoring a special child! All that we ask of a shavee is that you try to raise at least $50 on your own before the event. And of course that you invite others to watch you shave your head for some awesome kids! (Please note that you will be shaved by licensed barbers and only with clippers with a guard on! There are not exposed blades or clean shaven heads at these events! 1/8-1/4 inch heads is our goal so no worries!) Want to donate a baked good or beverage? Please look for my name on the left of the page ( Shannon Stewart) and contact me via phone/email. I will be glad to let you know when and where you can drop off your items. And they will be greatly appreciated and used for a great cause! Please contact me personally ( Shannon Stewart) via phone/email if you wish to donate your hair at the event , but cannot commit to shaving. I will give you the guidelines and qualifications we will be adhering to for this event. And finally DONATIONS! Straight up donations can be done quickly and easily right here on this page! If you do not personally know the team or participant that you would like to donate to just click on the link to the left that says "Make a donation". Otherwise you can click on the "shavee" link on the right side of this page and choose the participant you would like to donate to, directly helping them towards their goal. You are all awesome! I am so proud of this community that I live in and I am glad to call it my home. Much love and thanks to each and every one of you that have found a way to help support this cause! From the bottom of my heart THANK YOU :) Shannon Stewart
