Celebrating 25 Years

James H. Boyd Intermediate School

For the past several years, Sarah’s Soldiers, a group of Elwood students and middle school teachers, have given up their locks to raise money for childhood cancer research. Please join them as a shavee at Boyd School on Monday, March 10th from 4:30-7:30 PM. As a shavee you solicit donations from friends and family to support the cause. Believe it or not, people will give generously to see you GO BALD and sacrifice your lovely locks. Form a team with your friends, school sports teams, clubs and family! At our event we remember students Sarah B., Matthew L., Joseph M. and all children who have lost their brave battle against cancer. We honor Grace F. and other cancer survivors and especially children currently undergoing treatment for the disease. While battling cancer, these children lose not only their hair, but years of their childhood. In comparison to their struggle, shaving your head is a small sacrifice, and the funds raised will make a difference for children with cancer now and in the future. Worldwide, 160,000 kids are diagnosed with cancer each year and despite tremendous progress, cancer remains the #1 disease killer of children in the U.S. and Canada. By joining our event, you can help conquer kids’ cancer!

St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
